These are replacement leadpipes for the Generation II Conn 88H and 62H trombones. They are threaded to insert into a special threaded receiver on the cork barrel of your newer Conn slide. You already know if you have one of the slides that will accept these pipes. The threads are unique to Conn, though these pipes may press into other brands of trombones. Your repair tech can remove the threads from the top ring if you're contemplating a project horn using an older slide. With the threads removed you can press this pipe into a trombone that has no receiving threads on the cork barrel. If the pipe fits loosely, some tape wrapped around the pipe just under the ring will hold it. It's the vintage way to do it.
Regarding the descriptions below, they are mostly straight from the Conn catalog. I have no idea what most of them mean. Short or long venturi? <shrugs> Good luck.

This is the Remington large shank receiver pipe with a longer taper designed for traditional response characteristics. This was the standard pipe in 88H trombones before the Generation II was introduced. Rather than a standard Morse taper as is common in most trombone, this is a more gradual Brown & Sharpe type taper. It's the vintage style, and fits Remington mouthpieces and older Schilke mouthpieces the best. Standard Bach and other Morse taper mouthpieces do not fit as well into this receiver. However, if you insist, the mouthpiece and receiver will eventually get acquainted over time as parts wear together. Plenty of players use Bach mouthpiece in vintage Conn trombones with good success.
