This is a Bach tenor Stradivarius Model 12 tenor trombone with a custom lightweight brass hand slide modified by removal of the nickel oversleeves. The custom leadpipe is by Burt Herrick. The serial number is no longer clear, but the seller says it's of 1970's vintage.
This trombone was owned for many years by LA studio trombonist Bruce Otto, a colleague of George Thatcher, whose instrument collection is also available through Horn Guys. Bruce Otto played this trombone on the remarkable Slidewerke quartet album Trombania with Dave Ryan, Alex Iles and Mike Suter, and many sessions, TV dates, as well as the Les Hooper band.
Bruce Otto played on many motion picture and televison soundtracks, such as Mission Impossible, Seven Years in Tibet, ClueLess,The Horse Whisperer and Star Trek Voyager. He can also be heard on many episodes of Anamaniacs, Sylvester and Tweety and Pinky and the Brain.

Condition: Very good, silent and fast Bruce Belo maintained hand slide action, pretty clean, the instrument has been relacquered except for the tuning slide, which is original. Some evidence of dents repaired, marks under the lacquer, tarnish and spots. Includes original Bach case.
