This collection of ten finger tunes should help to expand the student's
awareness of the full range of possibilities of the keyboard. Most beginning
students will take to the linear concept of single melodies distributed
between the fingers of both hands with relief and a sense of freedom after
the complexity of trying to handle the traditional approach of melody and
accompaniment.

This is not to say the ten finger tune approach should replace the
traditional methods but rather that it be used as part of a diversified
approach that can be adjusted to fit the strengths and weaknesses of each
student.
