David Hickman has written two similar and excellent books to help improve your speed reading.
This one, Speed Reading for Beginners has the orange cover 48pp, 2 sections: rhythm recognition, dot notes, 20 lessons plus 14 famous melodies. This is for someone who does not yet read music well but wants to get faster. Funny quote from the introduction: tuba players may turn the book upside down. Nothing faster than 8th note.
The other book, Speed Reading has the black cover 43pp, 3 sections: dot notes, rhythm divisions, pitch organization, 22 lessons plus 10 etudes, 4 duets. This is for someone who reads music, but wants to learn to speed read. More difficult book.
