This is a Miraphone model 191 4-valve BBb tuba made in Waldkraiberg, Germany. It was purchased new from The Horn Guys in 2015, and now the owner has retired from playing so it's available again.
The Miraphone 191 tuba has a large .835" bore with a wide 18.5" bell. Call it a large 4/4 or a compact 5/4 size tuba, it's some of both. In their tuba lineup, the 191 is larger than a 187 and is in between the size of the 495 and 496.
This 191 tuba is in terrific condition, with a few small dings removed from the bell flare and some marks from handling. Right now the tuba is with Paul Klintworth for minor dent work and a full ultrasonic cleaning for a fresh start.
Photos show the before condition, which is very good. The detail photos try to show a small dent in the bottom bow. It's minor, but on the list. Expected return date here after cleaning, repair etc. is May 3.
Includes Miraphone gig bag purchased new in 2020, Miraphone accessory kit and TU23 and TU33 mouthpieces.
