This is a beautiful small bore tenor trombone with some miles on it. Built at S.E. Shires in Hopedale, MA, and chosen some years ago by our friend local trombonist Jim McMillen, he's thinning his herd of trombones and wanted to make sure someone in the next generation is playing this one, because it's a great horn. You can tell because it's not shiny anymore. This horn has scars from dents, acid bleed, worn lacquer - it's been some places. But the slide action is fantastic and it's been professionally cleaned and tuned by The Brass Mavens. This is a really light instrument, its bell is simply resonant. If you like a King style horn but need it to do more for you, this is it. The clarity of sound and feather light response is captivating, as Shires can do.
