This is one of the premier lightweight tuba cases of all the world. It's hand made in Berkeley, California by Glenn Cronkhite and the Estrella Sewing Shop. The Cronkhite case is available in numerous sizes to fit your tuba exactly. It uses the finest materials and can be repaired and rebuilt as necessary in later years. This case should last you for your entire professional career. We think it's a terrific investment to protect your valuable tuba and to make your tuba travels a bit easier.
The Cronkhite tuba case is not just a gig bag. It's a well designed soft case which gently cradles your instrument. The body of the case is made from firm foam. The interior is a soft velour fabric. The exterior is covered in a heavy duty Cordura-style nylon fabric with leather trim.
Known as a side loading case, the Cronkhite unzips about 3/4 of the way around the case. That way the lid can open and lie flat like a suitcase. The tuba is easily inserted and removed without any of the struggle seen with top loading cases. A single leather handle and double padded backpack straps allow easy transport of even the largest tubas.
A zipper pocket on the back allows storage of small items. A larger and removable zipper pocket on the front will hold even an orchestra folder. This pocket floats above the case to allow a flat rigid sheet music folder to be carried on the slightly rounded case without injury to your music or your tuba.
