Item Details
This is a flexible plastic cleaning snake to help clean the inside of larger bore instruments like baritones, euphoniums, and tubas. Cimbasso and contrabass trombone players may take note as well. The snake has large flexible nylon brushes on each end. Neither the snake nor the brushes will scratch or harm your instrument. Made in USA.
To clean a larger instrument, consider placing a soft towel on the bottom of a bath tub, then filling the tub with lukewarm water and some dish soap. Remove all pistons, slides, and extraneous parts from your horn, then submerge it in the water for a few minutes. Using the snake, you can scrub out the inside of the instrument while it's submerged. Remove your horn from the water, quickly dry and lubricate, and you're better than new. Avoid hot water in the tub as it can be detrimental to lacquer finishes.
(Be prepared to clean the bathtub afterward or face ostracism. Needed: scouring powder, sponge.)
This snake is available with smaller diameter brushes for trombones and trumpets.
