K&M 14910 Bass Trombone Stand

$140.00

Item Details

This is a heavy duty stand for bass trombone made in Germany by K&M.  It's all steel with a wood cone on top to support the instrument.  Many tenor trombones will fit too.  Larger trombones like an F contrabass should fit fine, but the limited diameter of the base matched with the height of that instrument might lead me toward a stand with a wider base.  Otherwise a few sand bags on the legs should reduce your worry.  The Miraphone BBb contrabass should also fit, or choose a contrabass specific stand for either instrument.

The K&M stand controls allow you to adjust the center shaft height and the pedestal height.  All small parts are replaceable; most are in stock.  Leg pivots can be tightened.  This is a beefy, tough stand that will last your entire career.  I kept one of these in my gig accessory bag back in the day, but I prefer this stand for use in the studio where it stays put.  It's weighty and requires several different adjustments to fold it.  The K&M 14990 stand is a bit lighter and quicker to pack up, though it doesn't have the mass and studio style that this bass trombone stand offers.
