The revolutionary daCarbo trombone with carbon fiber slide and bell is now available in several versions. Designed and built by Dr. Andreas Keller and Musik Spiri in Switzerland, the development of the daCarbo trombone was followed by glowing test reports from well-known players from different genres of the music realm.
The principles of engineering in the behavior of the vibrations in the sound wave with carbon fiber composites were successfully transferred from daCarbo trumpets to the trombones.
As with daCarbo trumpets, this trombone is incredibly easy to play, while producing the highest quality of sound. It allows excellent articulation, flexibility, and musical ideas to flow, since the horn can be played most easily, using less energy. This is especially apparent in the high range, where that feeling that a horn "tightens up" does not happen with a daCarbo.
Bore Size: 0.525" or 0.547“. The bell diameter is 9".
The carbon fiber outer slide can never bend or dent and is manufactured much straighter than a brass slide trombone. As a result, the gap between the outer and inner slide can be held at a minimum, allowing only enough space for the lubricant. This new technology enhances the sound, speed, and quality of the instrument. Furthermore, the new carbon fiber outer slide is extremely light, giving you the utmost comfort in precision of sound quality and performance.
Says Steve:
After playing two straight tenor versions of the daCarbo trombone, I concur that this is a first class trombone, among the best I have played. If I didn't already have a nice Swiss trombone, (and several other custom tenor trombones) I'd buy one of these. These play big and dark, but center easily. The tone is clear but doesn't break up. The high range slots in more securely than other trombones. The slide action is fantastic.
A very nice backpack case is included.
