This is a 4/4 piston CC tuba made in Germany by B&S. This tuba is owned by a top bass trombonist in Los Angeles who picked it out brand new and then played it very little. It's his "retirement tuba". The tuba is very low miles and no blemishes aside from a few marks in the bell flare. Includes gig bag and both high pitch and low pitch main tuning slides. Fifth rotor is 1-1/4 steps.
This design is similar to the Perantucci PT20P, maybe the same, B&S tubas may be branded one of three ways depending upon where it was sold. This traditional tuba is a compact 4/4 US design with a wide bell, often called the York style, after US maker York instruments, who made tubas like this through the 1930's.
If you'd like a nimble full-size CC tuba for quintet, recording, bands or orchestra, this could be your baby.
