The BBb tuba at 18 feet long is the largest instrument in the brass family.  This is the contrabass tuba that is played in orchestras and bands worldwide.  The Dixieland band is also home for the BBb tuba.  This tuba shares fingering patterns with sousaphones and other Bb brass instruments, making it ideal for learning within a brass section.
