Historical, not for sale

This is a classic Conn 62H bass trombone made in Elkhart, Indiana circa 1969.  The distinctive features of the 62H are the discrete tuning mechanism in the hand slide, the one-piece red brass bell branch, and stacked rotors in F and D.  All those features lead to a very vibrant, alive, open instrument.  This is set up like the lightest hand slide of the several versions that were made, with its tuning brace having been removed.  The 62H was the choice of so many players in the Hollywood studios, it's that kind of sound.  This horn also has been modified with a new D crook and crossover linkage by Larry Minick.  The original Eb/D slide is included.  One Minick linkage has been replaced; we may have a spare.

This trombone was owned by George Thatcher, trombonist with John Williams, the LA studios and more.  This was George's #1 commercial-style bass trombone.  His wife Mati Russo will retain it.
