This is a single French horn pitched in the F made by the F.E. Olds company in Fullerton California back in the day. We used this as a rental instrument on occasion and one time an adult player asked to rent it while he was visiting here on vacation. His comment was that it was a fun horn to play because an F horn is made with a different and larger bell mandrel than the more common double horns we play today. Even with its limits he found this to be a cool instrument.
Paul Klintworth Repair removed any dents and ultrasonically cleaned it and fixed a joint and aligned and re-strung the rotors and now it's in perfect mechanical condition.
The original lacquer finish is somewhat worn and darkened with missing areas where repairs have been performed, but overall the instrument is strong and ready for the next generation of single F horn enthusiasts.
Includes hard case and choice of new Faxx mouthpiece: 2, 7, 7BW, 11, MC, MDC, C6, C8, C10.
