An accompanying version entitled "36 Studies for Trombone with F Attachment" is available for players wishing to master the F attachment trombone, and focuses on similar exercises in the low range.

There is little information about Oskar Blume. There is speculation that this is a pseudonym used by another composer when writing for brass. He may also be Oskaer Biedermann, born in 1859 in Liegnitz. It is presumed that he was a brass teacher and performer. The first edition of his 36 Studies was published in 1899 by Carl Fischer.
