32 Etudes for Trombone by Sigmund Hering, pub. C Fischer

Item Details

Hering's etudes are the fruit of his 20 years of teaching experience.  Students will develop musicality in the classical style.
These are beginning to intermediate level etudes, each one page long, and each introduces a different concept.  They also progress in difficulty throughout the book.
This slim book is a good companion and for advanced players, will provide handy material for warm-ups and brushing up on technique.

Sigmund Hering was a graduate of the Royal Academy of Music, Vienna.  In 1923 he became the first trumpet in the Cleveland Orchestra, and in 1925 he accepted a similar position with the Philadelphia Orchestra under the leadership of Leopold Stokowski.  In addition, Mr. Hering was on the faculty of the Settlement Music School in Philadelphia.  His books of study have been published throughout the United States and Europe.
