Trumpet & Flugel Mouthpieces

Schantl - GR - Warburton - Kanstul - Bach - Faxx - MADMAX - Pouches

Florian Schantl Mouthpieces, Austria

Schantl mouthpieces are each hand made by master machinist Florian Schantl, one of the world's finest mouthpiece makers, at his shop in Austria. No computer lathes here, just old world craftsmanship. Years of research and experimentation has help Florian develop a full line of trumpet and flugelhorn mouthpieces that give the player a wide variety choices. These mouthpieces are some of the finest machining we've seen to date. Each has it's own characteristics and variations in sound and color. We recommend these mouthpieces for people looking for a powerful and "singing" tonal timbre. Also, the rim contours are very comfortable. These pieces are excellent on rotary trumpets as well. Any mouthpiece can be ordered with an "E" rim contour, which is similar to a Bach style rim. We order all of our in stock mouthpieces with this rim. This rim contour usually gives a wider feel to the inner diameter.

Faxx Trumpet Mouthpieces

These are nicely made copies of the old Mt. Vernon Bach mouthpieces, CNC made by Chuck Slinkard, owner of the Superslick brand. They just come in a few popular sizes, maybe not enough to satisfy advanced players with strong opinions about mouthpieces size. However, a number of my colleagues recommend these for their students, because when one is new to the trumpet, a 3C is a 3C is a 3C. So when they recommend a mouthpiece, they know their students can get the right sized one of these for half the price of a Bach mouthpiece. Includes plastic mouthpiece pouch.

MAD MAX Trumpet Mouthpiece

Distinctive polycarbonate mouthpiece, made in USA.  Clear plastic, very light, much lighter than Kelly mouthpieces, ribbed design rather than thick solid plastic.  Very comfortable and plays well, most likely aimed at lead players and marching players.  It won't get stuck in the leadpipe, and always feels warm to the lips.

Some user comments:

" MAD MAX is great. I take it with me on tour. Very comfortable and easy to play even at the end of the third set. Thanks! " Eddie Henderson, New York, NY mmtpt700

"From pedal tones to cc,  triple tonguing, slurring WOW!  It's amazing. In switching between my Schilke 13 1/2 gold plated to the mm300 (3c) I could not notice any difference This Mouthpiece is Outstanding"
Regent Scott, Retired Big Band Trumpet,  New York, NY

"I just got the mouthpiece (mmtpt300 3c) I played on it for 1 hour and was amazed!
It was very clear throughout the range. I was surprised at how fast it warmed up. It was almost hot as soon as I started playing. It doesn't fit my Benge very well (the Benge trumpet bore is slightly wider or an adjustable receiver would be better on this model) but it fits a Bach Strad perfectly. It sounded really nice. I'm going to play with my Yamaha and see how that sounds but I pleased with it right now. Thank you for sending it so quickly and I look forward to the 5c (mmtpt500) when it is ready, to see how it feels." Kelley Ray, Graves County Schools, Mayfield KY (via voice mail)

"The mouthpiece (mmtpt300  3c) is great. Quite a surprise. Everyone has commented on the projection and sound quality. Feels great. Thanks so much. It was great meeting you in Va. Beach last week. Look forward to hearing from you and your other products." Bob Ransom,  Hampton VA   Instrument:  Besson, Meha    Schilke 4M

" While at the TMEA convention I bought a mmtpt300. I have never had such a clear tone on my trumpet until I purchased this mouthpiece. It is great. I don't have to worry about it if I don't have enough time to warm up becaust the mouthpiece hardly ever gets cold! This is a good thing for me because when my mouthpiece is cold I can't play very long. Thank you MAD-MAX!!!"Adriano Garcia, Carthage, TX

"You can't get them stuck in the horn and they don't get hot or cold. What's not to like!?  :)  Donovan Bankhead
